Summary

Local Redactor AI processes all data on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or have access to any of your data.

Data processing

The extension intercepts your messages to ChatGPT and Claude, anonymises them using a detection engine running locally on your computer, and lets you review the result before sending. All processing happens entirely on your device:

• Your original text never leaves your device.
• Anonymisation mappings (the link between placeholders and original values) are stored in your browser's session storage and cleared when you close the tab.
• Saved rules and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage on your device.

Data collection

We collect no data whatsoever. Specifically:

• No analytics or telemetry
• No usage tracking
• No error reporting
• No cookies
• No accounts or sign-ups
• No network requests to any server other than your own local backend (localhost)

Third-party services

The extension communicates only with a backend server running on your own computer (localhost:3001). It makes no requests to any external server, API, or cloud service.

License keys

License keys are validated offline using a cryptographic signature. No activation server is contacted. The key is stored locally on your device.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
